About Us
For the past 12 years Rachel Phillips has been working in the Writing Field. Beginning as a Self-Published author, she has taught multiple classes to individuals on how to properly and successfully sell self-published books. Within the past six years she has taken her craft to Elementary Education and served as a Louisiana Certified English and Math Teacher.
Background
Mrs. Phillips graduated from the University of Arkansas Grantham with a Masters in Business Administration. She continued her Education and completed the Ancillary Certification Program at Holy Cross and Received her Louisiana Teaching Certification in 2021.
Louisiana Tutoring Initiative
Mrs. Phillips created Passion for Literacy LLC to begin tutoring students in Louisiana on their literacy skills. She has created her own writing curriculum and other supplemental materials based on the Science of Reading and Phonics Core Lessons. She now serves as the Facilitator of her own Writing Laboratory in a Local Private School in New Orleans educating both Teachers and Students on Tier 1 Materials, and the utilization of Literacy Based Learning Strategies.
Our Mission
The mission of Passion for Literacy LLC is to assist children and adults on literacy skills to prepare for future occupations, standardized testing, and success in education. Led by a driven Elementary and Middle School Teacher, Passion for Literacy is devoted to increasing Louisiana's overall reading scores in both Public and Private schools by bringing the Science of Reading and Phonics based lessons through virtual learning.
